A Culinary Dynasty: The Tan Family's Century-Long Legacy

In the northern regions of China, where the diverse culinary landscape has given rise to renowned cuisines like Shandong (Lu) cuisine, the Tan family from Fushan County in Yantai stands as an iconic lineage. Benefiting from Yantai’s rich natural resources—abundant grains and fresh seafood—our ancestors honed their skills in an environment that nurtured excellence.
During the 1960s, celebrated chefs such as Mr. Tan Yuanzhi, who later led the renowned 'Goubuli Baozi' in Tianjin, and his contemporaries created dishes that became local legends. Today, Fat Dumpling in Sydney proudly continues this legacy, with the tradition passed from Mr. Tan Yuanzhi to his grandson. Our commitment to preserving ancestral recipes and traditional techniques allows us to bring these exquisite flavors to new shores.
